In December 2000 I received my Masters Degrees in Marriage and Family Therapy and School Counseling from California State University, Sacramento. I spent eight years working at Valley Community Counseling Services as a Registered Marriage Family Therapist Intern and School Counselor. During this time I treated clients in both clinical and school settings providing individual, family and group counseling on a variety of mental health issues to include depression, anxiety, marital issues, domestic violence and issues related to addiction. I provided family reunification counseling and skills training for families involved with Child Protective Services and foster care. I worked extensively with adults in difficult and sometimes emotionally and/or physically abusive relationships. In addition, I have facilitated adult, male and female anger management groups.
While providing school and child counseling I have facilitated anger management, grief and life skills groups to youth and adolescents. Over the past 16 years I have worked with children on an individual and group basis for issues related to divorce, grief, depression, anxiety, anger issues, self injurious behavior, drug use and issues of abuse. I have provided mental health counseling in schools at all levels. My experience includes mental health counseling at Howe Avenue Elementary, Clover Middle School, New Jerusalem Charter School, Jane Frederick Continuation School and Inderkum High School.
I've spent the last 6 years in private practice working with teens, adults and couples on a variety of mental health issues. I recentley graduated from McGeorge School of Law with a Masters of Science in Family Law and Mediation. I currently provide individual, couples coaching and divorce and custody mediation in my private practice.
